The former convent has housed the city's fine art museum since 1795 and is one of the oldest museums in the country. Designers at [Quartiers Lumières](http://www.quartierslumieres.com/) conceived an exterior lighting scheme for the museum to highlight the beauty of its edifice when the sun goes down. One aspect of their design features gobo projections that highlight the building's history through a subtle play of contrasts on the brick façade. [![Gobo projections highlight the architectural details on the gothic façade.](https://spectrum.rosco.com/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/Augustins-Image-Spot-blog-toulouse-augustins-quartiers-lumieres-4-3.jpg)](https://spectrum.rosco.com/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/Augustins-Image-Spot-blog-toulouse-augustins-quartiers-lumieres-4-2.jpg?hsLang=en) The designers used IP65-rated [Rosco Image Spots](https://www.rosco.com/en/product/image-spot) to project [Custom Black and White Glass Gobos](https://www.rosco.com/product/custom-glass-gobos) onto the building. The gobos were meticulously designed to highlight specific brick patterns – indicating where ancient passageways used to exist in the convent. This project was recognized in the [SERCE Concours Lumières® lighting competition](https://www.serce.fr/pdf/web/viewer.html?file=/fichiers/20180606102453_CP_2018_JUIN_Palmares_Concours_Lumieres_2018.pdf). The SERCE jury appreciated the accuracy of the lighting scheme and welcomed its sobriety, elegance, and subtlety.
