Tick Tock, Gobo Clock

Reflected water, flickering fire, gentle rain, blowing clouds, swaying trees, rippling waves, shimmering light, exploding fireworks, spiraling tornadoes, twinkling stars. This is just a small list compared to the endless effects that lighting designers can create using the RevoPRO™and Rosco steel and glass gobos. One that has become popular is a projected clock face with moving hands. This combination illustrates how Rosco's rotators can create a realistic, cued, time effect for productions that need to project a specific time on stage.

The effect shown in the video necessitates two fixtures -- one to project the clock face and another to project the indexed minute and hour hands. The gobos used were the negative image of the standard steel designs that were manufactured as black and white glass gobos.

Light Fixture #1 = Rosco Gobo #77920 Clock Face as a black & white glass gobo - static
Light Fixture #2: RevoPRO Gobo Rotator:
Rotator #1 (Closest to lamp) = Rosco Gobo #77922 Minute Hand as a black & white glass gobo
Rotator #2 (Closest to lens) = Rosco Gobo #77921 Hour Hand as a black & white glass gobo
Note: if you’ve got an LED ellipsoidal that can take plastic gobos, you can also have these designs made into Cool Ink Plastic Gobos.

You can create many different effects like the gobo clock using a range of Rosco Gobos. To see more effects that you can create with Rosco gobos and gobo rotators, check out our Rosco Effects Youtube Channel.
