Quanta is a Rosco authorised dealer and a leading audiovisual hub in Brazil, offering space and equipment for film, television, and commercial productions. The company recently partnered with Amazon Prime to deliver fully virtual coverage of Brazil’s major football tournaments—the Copa do Brasil and Campeonato Brasileiro Série A—which ran throughout 2025. The broadcasts showcase a state-of-the-art virtual production studio built inside Quanta’s São Paulo facility. Quanta’s Director, Tieres Tavares, and Creative Director of Technologies, Diogo Costa, explain how Rosco DigiComp HD® Paint and ChromaGaff™ Tape helped create a seamless green screen virtual set for all pre-game, half-time, and post-match shows.

Across global markets, the Amazon Prime team has a virtual production standard which offers the most efficient way to ensure consistent, high-quality broadcasts. The goal was to replicate the same set design in Brazil and then customise it to reflect regional characteristics. This approach reduced the high costs and logistical challenges of traditional set construction, offered greater creative freedom, and supported more sustainable production practices.

Challenge
Building on Quanta’s expertise in virtual production for film and television, Amazon saw the company as the ideal partner. Traditionally, Quanta’s virtual production work relied on LED walls displaying real-time imagery for feature films, series, and other entertainment projects. Transitioning from LED volumes in entertainment to a green screen workflow for broadcast, however, introduced a new set of complexities and challenges.

Tieres explained that creating a green-screen studio required precise control to ensure all physical elements—such as the desk, chairs, and on-screen talent—blended seamlessly into the virtual space. An important consideration was making sure presenters with different skin tones were accurately lit and keyed to achieve natural, consistent results on screen. He said: "To achieve the cleanest possible key and the best cut, we needed not only consistent lighting, but also a chroma set-up that was easy to key—minimising reflections on hair and avoiding colour contamination on the skin tones."
Solution
To ensure flawless keying performance across every stage of production, the Quanta team turned to Rosco Digicomp HD Paint. The space now features an “infinity” background—with the floor and walls fully painted green—allowing live-action elements, including on-air talent and the physical desk, to be composited seamlessly into the virtual set. The team also applied Rosco ChromaGaff™ Tape to guide presenters and indicate where virtual objects would appear within the set.
Tieres explained why they relied on Rosco Digicomp HD Paint for this project: “We chose Rosco Digicomp HD Paint because we wanted to be absolutely certain that the keying would be perfect. In Brazil, it’s common for productions to use different paint brands, sometimes even regular house paint, but we wanted professional consistency and precision.”
Result
Rosco Digicomp HD Paint proved to be the right solution. “We didn’t have any issues at all,” said Diogo. “You could call it a ‘once-and-done’ process. We didn’t even have to worry about maintenance because it held up perfectly throughout the entire season. Another advantage was for the lighting designer, who found it much easier to achieve uniform illumination across the green screen.” Tieres agreed: “The outcome is great. We received only compliments on the look and feel of the studio.”

The new setup offers a fully customisable and dynamic environment, delivering an immersive viewing experience to fans across Brazil. Following this success, the Quanta team plans to use the space as a blueprint for a more contemporary broadcasting approach and expand its role beyond football to include other sports productions.
