LitePads Provide Toplighting For Top-End Brands

Written by Tatiana Massano | January 26, 2017

Located in Titisee-Neustadt, a peaceful small town in Germany’s Black Forest, is Drubba Moments – a popular travel destination and obligatory stop for all admirers and collectors of high-quality German and Swiss timepieces. The showroom recently relocated into a new 450 sq.m. building on the shore of Lake Titisee.

Designed by Ippolito Fleitz Group architects and their partner pfarré lighting design, the core idea was to maintain the corporate identities of each brand under one unified spatial concept. When it came to lighting inside the store, the designers faced one key challenge – how to create homogenous light throughout the store and inside the display cases. It was decided that the store would be lit using fixtures that were balanced to 3000K. Once the design team settled on the spot lights in the ceiling, the next challenge was to find a matching light source for inside the display cabinets. This would ensure that when the high-value products are taken out of the cases that they are viewed in an identical light.

The design team ended up specifying Rosco’s Custom LitePad HO90 LED fixtures to provide the top lighting inside of their display cases. The fixture met all of the architects’ needs: slim, lightweight profile that could be customized to their exact specifications – including pre-drilled holes for easy installation. Custom LitePad HO90 also met the lighting design requirements thanks to its powerful-yet-soft 3000K illumination, its 90+ CRI and its dimming capabilities.
