It may seem kooky, but if you want a rich mahogany effect to create the interior elements of the Addams home or the Pugsley Stretching Rack - you'll want to start with an Orange base color. Then, mix the Burnt Umber and Burnt Sienna to create the mahogany woodgrain tones that best fit your set design.  

To make a luxurious faux wallpaper, begin by painting a Deep Red base coat on the walls. Then mix the Deep Red with the Purple to create a shadow color you can use with a damask stencil to create the wallpaper design

Use the Van Dyke Brown and Paynes Grey anywhere you need to create darkness and shadows.

To decorate the Addams home, you can carve quirky sculptures and spooky tombstones out of foam, then use Rosco FoamCoat to protect the carving and prime the foam for paint. Learn more.

You can also make lightweight-yet-durable picture frames for your Addams Family “portraits” out of foam and then paint them with Metallix Gilders Gold after priming with the FoamCoat to give them a rich and lustrous finish.

Another portrait tip is to get them printed - then paint over the top of them with Rosco CrystalGel to add the brushstroke texture that will make your printed portraits feel like oil paintings. If you want to take this technique up a notch, load videos of your Addams ancestors onto video monitors. Then add the same CrystalGel brushstroke texture onto the surface of the monitor. Use the R99 & R3204 to create the "black and white" feeling of the original TV show.

The saturated R27 & E139 colors can be used for unsettling/eerie lighting looks, while either R79 or R359 can be used for vibrant moonlight.
