Throughout Carnival season, spectacular floats—carefully designed, built, and painted to match each parade’s unique theme—roll through the streets, creating a dazzling display of artistry and imagination that millions of spectators enjoy every year. The paint’s rich, saturated colours help artists create eye-catching designs that reflect the vibrant energy of Mardi Gras. This versatile vinyl acrylic paint adheres well to a variety of materials, including muslin, wood, metals, wallboard, and many plastics. It is ready for use straight out of the can or diluted with water, offering the flexibility needed for both large‑scale applications and fine detail work. They are also easy to dilute for beautiful paint wash mixes. We also like how easy they are to manipulate to mix secondary colours.” [![A colourful Mardi Gras float decorated with bold, detailed artwork painted using Rosco Off Broadway paint.](https://spectrum.rosco.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Rosco%20blog%20Mardi%20Gras%20OB%20Floats-Bacchus-Bacchawhoppa-Saints-KernStudios%20copy.jpg?width=900&height=600&name=Rosco%20blog%20Mardi%20Gras%20OB%20Floats-Bacchus-Bacchawhoppa-Saints-KernStudios%20copy.jpg)](https://spectrum.rosco.com/hubfs/Rosco%20blog%20Mardi%20Gras%20OB%20Floats-Bacchus-Bacchawhoppa-Saints-KernStudios%20copy.jpg?hsLang=en) For more information about the product artists at Crescent City Artists LLC used to paint Mardi Gras floats, [please visit the Off Broadway product page](https://www.rosco.com/product/off-broadway) on the Rosco website.                                                                                                       Photo credits: Rene Pierre of New Orleans, Louisiana                                                                                                              and Stephen Monette of Harahan, Louisiana.   Tatiana Massano February 19, 2026 [Questions?](mailto:spectrum@rosco.com) [Scenic and Staging](https://spectrum.rosco.com/tag/scenic-and-staging) ![](https://spectrum.rosco.com/hubfs/Tatiana-Massano2-160x160.jpg) ## About Tatiana Massano Content Marketing Specialist: Based in the Madrid office, Tatiana is ideally positioned to share inspiring stories of how customers use Rosco products to accomplish their ideas in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. ### Related post [Introducing Rosco Metallix™ Paints](https://spectrum.rosco.com/introducing-rosco-metallix-paints?hsLang=en) [Filling Coldplay’s Head Full Of Vibrant Rosco Colours](https://spectrum.rosco.com/index.php/2017/04/coldplays-vibrant-rosco-colours?hsLang=en) [Sophisticated Photography Backdrops Created With Painted Textures](https://spectrum.rosco.com/sophisticated-photography-backdrops-created-with-painted-textures?hsLang=en) [Why Artist Ed Reynolds Believes Rosco Supersat Is The Best Mural Paint](https://spectrum.rosco.com/why-artist-ed-reynolds-believes-rosco-supersat-is-the-best-mural-paint?hsLang=en) ### Receive Email Alerts About New Spectrum Blog Posts! ### Categories [Architecture](https://spectrum.rosco.com/tag/architecture) [Dance](https://spectrum.rosco.com/tag/dance) [Entertainment Lighting](https://spectrum.rosco.com/tag/entertainment-lighting) [Film, Television and Broadcast](https://spectrum.rosco.com/tag/film-television-and-broadcast) [Photography](https://spectrum.rosco.com/tag/photography) [Rosco - The Company](https://spectrum.rosco.com/tag/rosco-the-company) [Scenic and Staging](https://spectrum.rosco.com/tag/scenic-and-staging) © 2022 Rosco Spectrum - [Home](https://spectrum.rosco.com/) - [About Spectrum](https://spectrum.rosco.com/rosco-spectrum-featured-products-3?hsLang=en) - [Featured Products](https://spectrum.rosco.com/rosco-spectrum-featured-products?hsLang=en) - [Rosco.com](https://us.rosco.com/en) - ```json { "@context" : "https://schema.org", "@type" : "BlogPosting", "author" : { "@type" : "Person", "name" : "Tatiana Massano", "url" : "https://spectrum.rosco.com/author/tmassano" }, "dateModified" : "2026-02-19T16:00:00.266Z", "datePublished" : "2026-02-19T16:00:00.000Z", "headline" : "Creating Vibrant Mardi Gras Floats Using Rosco Off Broadway Paints", "image" : [ "https://spectrum.rosco.com/hubfs/Rosco%20blog%20Mardi%20Gras%20OB%20feature_OG%20copy%206.jpg" ], "mainEntityOfPage" : { "@id" : "https://spectrum.rosco.com/creating-vibrant-mardi-gras-floats-using-rosco-off-broadway-paints", "@type" : "WebPage" }, "publisher" : { "@type" : "Organization", "logo" : { "@type" : "ImageObject", "url" : "https://spectrum.rosco.com/hubfs/ROSCO_WAL_H_RGB.png" }, "name" : "Rosco Laboratories" } } ```
